I tried looking at the raw DV in kino:

I guess what you mean by "the quality setting ..." is at

Preferences --> Display Tab
DV decode quality at "best/color"

In that case (with View set to 100%) the quality of Video is improved.
I would say "crystal clear picture", (interlacing can be perfectly
identified, but is quite better.

Not sure if that is all the problem. I will continue testing different
options.
