No. Contacting the devs and making sure you're sending the right stuff
is the only reasonable way to do it. This is clearly stated at the top
of "want.html" on the site.

The real trouble is that often the shipping costs are the prohibitive
expense. For example, I was able to pick up a half dozen SGI O2 systems
for between $25 and $60 each. Getting each one of them to devs in
Europe cost about $60-80 in shipping. Since the O2 machines normally
sell in Europe for $500+ (at the time) it was still a bargain even
though the shipping cost more than the hardware.

It might seem a bit weird, but it's actually very normal.

Worse yet, there is the issue of VAT (Value Added Tax) in some
countries, so anything you ship means the dev recieving the gear will
need to pay tax on it. If you send the wrong hardware, or send
broken/non-tested hardware, you've just cost the developer good money
in taxes for the garbage.

And lastly, the developers are real people with real lives. They are not
always able to get back to you through email within the 60 seconds or
less which impatient types always insist upon. oga@ will get back to us
when/if he has the time. Until then, I'll just be patient.
