The vmt(4) driver seems to exist precisely to alleviate the need for an open-vm-tools package. If one of the features mentioned in the manpage doesn't work any more, then probably some kind of fix is needed. vmt(4) also mentions the vmwh package, and there is hostctl(8). My 2 cents, I don't use OpenBSD on vmware. -- jca
