I used rsync to copy files. sudo rsync -anv --delete /mnt/wd1l/ /mnt/wd2l/ reports no changes required (runtime under 3 minutes). sudo diff -r /mnt/wd1l/ /mnt/wd2l/ reports no difference (runtime 10 hours)
