Flame wars are educational, for readers with an open mind. And I think I'll air my own two armpits, off-list: http://free-is-not-free.blogspot.jp/2015/12/encrypt-everything-or-maybe-not.html I didn't even begin to cover everything that has been mentioned in this thread, but I think it might help get those who want to use https wall-to-wall to think twice and recognize that there are other things that need attention first. Or maybe not, I tend to think I'm smarter than I am sometimes. For those who are concerned about the keys, it has been mentioned several times, but the best way to get meaningful confidence in the published keys is to buy the CDs and then check the keys found there against multiple mirrors. You're going to have to be really valuable to the NSA or some other well-funded group in your area for them to be able to filter every mirror you can find. If you need to, go to a random netcafe or other place and check from there, too. -- Joel Rees Be careful when you look at conspiracy.
