I hardly think so. If there's any chance to go with the stock ports/packages, do it. Most other things are hard to maintain... think of an update for the same program... and remember all those fine patches that make these programs work flawlessly under openbsd. It's not worth the time and risk... if the actual work is already done. Most ports are prepared for use with flavors and i'd had only a few corner cases where the stock port didn't fit my actual needs. Regards, Simon
