Your video card's TV-out will need to be enabled. We don't know what your laptop's video card is -- your link is only to the cables you purchased. The driver may, or may not, support TV-out. Check the man page for the driver for more info. If you can't figure out which video card you have, post your dmesg, and someone will help you.
