Ok. I am assuming that Democratic Party politicians made their particular place
a sanctuary city or state because of their voting base. If the voting base
shifts in their sympathies to favor deportations, then I agree with you.
I don't see much of a shift in the Democratic Party coalition towards that, at
present, but it's all anecdotal at this point. What I perceive happening is
extreme alienation of parts of the Democrat's coalition at the Dems inability
to stop Trump and his mean girls from hurting working people. Musk's profound
disrespect for those who actually work has been on display since his X/Twitter
acquisition when Musk complained about lazy and stupid workers at X/Twitter as
he reduced the market value of the company by two thirds? The same probably has
happened to its revenue, but that's not reported in a privately-held company.
I think the Democratic Party base sees this and is looking for some way to
fight back. And they are at a loss, particularly as the justice system is
revealed to be just as unable or unwilling to stop the destruction of
government services. Instead of swinging towards Trump, Democratic voters are
hearing a lot from the anti-deportations Senator from the great business state
of Connecticut: Senator Murphy has recently written about the failures of
neoliberalism:
