And yet it’s true, because the image of a “pacifist” Hitler was cultivated not only by his acolytes, but also by those Europeans – and they were the majority – who liked to take his professions of faith in favor of peace at face value, because they thought that, all things considered, “*Hitler was better than the Communists or the Front Populaire”.*
