I'd recommend that you use it yourself before judging its usefulness and its
problems: One example is insufficient. Chatbots and so-called "large language
models" are today replacing old-fashioned web search: As content providers make
their content inaccessible to web search engines, it becomes increasingly
necessary to turn to much more resource-expensive AI programs. The older
web-search technologies require much less energy but have been cheapened to
produce more advertising than useful information.

Web content providers are "locking down" their sites in response to AI
companies incorporating others' "intellectual property" into the AI companies
large language models, effectively appropriating the content providers
intellectual property. This is no doubt factored into the astronomical market
valuation of AI companies. That capital investment is driving us to burn much
more fossil fuels, including coal, and is leading Amazon, Microsoft and others
to plan new nuclear reactors. There is a growing demand for these services for
people who do information research on the Internet out of necessity - and the
highly inefficient evolution of Internet information access. We should learn
about this capitalist technology because it is today one of the most powerful
attractors of global capital.

I should add that if you don't like what your chatbot is producing, maybe it's
too Eurocentric, or English-centric, or negligent of the southern hemisphere,
the solution is to train it with different content.

Also, a slightly different question, in a different order, to chatGPT does
mention the IWL-FI - and it can be guided to give references, something we
often miss on this list.

Question: What are the references to answering the question of how many fourth
internationals that adhere to Trotskyism exist in the world today?

"Determining the exact number of Fourth Internationals adhering to Trotskyism
is complex due to historical splits and the formation of various international
organizations claiming lineage from the original Fourth International.
Currently, there are several prominent Trotskyist internationals, each
considering itself a continuation of Trotsky’s legacy. Here are some of the
most notable ones:

Fourth International (FI)
Also known as the United Secretariat of the Fourth International (USFI), this
organization claims direct organizational continuity with the original Fourth
International founded by Leon Trotsky in 1938. It operates as a cohesive
international body with sections in various countries.

International Committee of the Fourth International (ICFI)
Formed in 1953 after a split from the original Fourth International, the ICFI
positions itself as the orthodox Trotskyist international, emphasizing strict
adherence to Trotsky’s theories and opposition to perceived revisions.
International Workers League – Fourth International (IWL-FI)
Established in 1982 by former members of the USFI, the IWL-FI focuses on
promoting Trotskyist principles and revolutionary socialism on a global scale.

Trotskyist Fraction – Fourth International (TF-FI)
Founded in 1988 by expelled members of the IWL-FI, the TF-FI seeks to uphold
the political legacy of the Fourth International through its affiliated
organizations in various countries. International Marxist Tendency (IMT)
While not directly claiming the Fourth International’s mantle, the IMT aligns
with Trotskyist principles and aims to build a global revolutionary movement
based on Marxist theory.

In addition to these, there are numerous smaller groups and factions worldwide
that identify with Trotskyism and claim affiliation with the Fourth
International’s legacy. The exact number is fluid, as new groups emerge, and
existing ones undergo splits or mergers. Therefore, while it’s challenging to
provide a precise count, there are at least five major international Trotskyist
organizations today, each asserting its connection to the original Fourth
International."

This particular question produced 14 references, all in English, in a few
seconds. The usefulness and the threat are very real.
