The idea that Trotsky wrote something called "The Transitional Program" is
a myth made up by dogmatists. There is no such thing and can never be any
such thing. What Trotsky did write was called "The Death Agony of
Capitalism and the Tasks of the Fourth International". In it, he explained:
"It is necessary to help the masses in the process of the daily struggle to
find the bridge between present demand and the socialist program of the
revolution. This bridge should include a system of *transitional demands*,
stemming from today’s conditions and from today’s consciousness of wide
layers of the working class and unalterably leading to one final
conclusion: the conquest of power by the proletariat."

I repeat: "a bridge between present demand and the socialist program of
revolution... stemming from today's conditions and from today's
consciousness". Notice that little word "today" in there? The doctrinaire
"Trotskyists" seem to think that 2024 is no different from 1938. The
doctrinaire "Trotskyists" adopt a transitional program of demands of nearly
100 years ago while they do mortal violence to the transitional *method*.
