Are we picking up three lefty narratives here, as usual distinguishing
between top-down geopolitricks and bottom-up, social-struggle
perspectives? (or more or less?)
1) critique of yankees+Israel+Turkey behind-the-curtain manipulation of

2) recognition that for yankee/Zionist interests, "the Assad regime and
HTS are almost equally bad," and instead emphasis on sectarian religious
infighting (weaking Assad's army commitment) plus weakened Iranian,
Hezbollah and Russian support for Assad that together provided a gap for
HTS, along with concern that what comes next is troubling due to
extreme-Islamic values of HTS and allies, and oppression of secular
democratic forces: e.g.,

3) a celebration of the role of popular will in overthrowing Assad,
