Receiving anything that disagrees with you as "testiness" is a hoot. Especially after one of your cothinkers on this question posts just to say to he doesn't have to post because those who disagree with him are irrelevant and powerless.
The maximize the use of a list like this involves weighing arguments. On the election question, I find what is taking place is in the shadow over the sort of thing that asserts without actually trying to refine an argument. Look, I am a pragmatist. I don't think you can understand voting Democratic by simply transposing to the U.S. the circumstances in which there are serious working class alternatives at the polls. In part, though, that reflects decisions made by the socialist sectlets who've not even tried to create an electoral united front. In face, they haven't even explained why such an electoral united front would be undesirable. What is not a materialist argument in the Marxist tradition is to simply repeat assertions about "objective conditions" that are essentially verbatim what we hear from the corporate media and the DNC. ("It's a binary choice," etc.) Or, to pull out the old texts and quote things about class politics that have no meaning beyond the ranks of the initiates. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
