I think the US Federalist Society represents more than the odd billionaire.
FedSoc reportedly picked the Justices and handled at least some of the bribes
to them (like Kellyanne Conway's money drop). It's embarrassing to admit, but
I was surprised by the Supreme Court decision. I thought they took the case as
a delay tactic to counter the Democrats' delay in prosecution until the
election yar. I obviously don't have any special knowledge, but Trump v. US
tells me that there are powerful groups in the US that want more than the
Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 policies: In the short term, the US Supreme
Court majority wants to have a President in office who will ask "why can't we
shoot them [BLM demonstrators] in the legs?" and in the long term, they gave
such a President immunity from legal prosecution. Who better to represent the
wishes of various factions of the US ruling class than US Supreme Court
justices?
