There are actual communists both on this list ,and in the USA. Communists like
myself who do not think of Castro, Mao, the leaders of the Venezuela, the USSR
and DPRK asĀ  "dictators", or buy into the line communism is "totalitarian". I
happen to believe the US is one of, if not the most, undemocratic countries in
the world. The USA is not a democracy, where the working class voter has a say
in how this country is run. The US was founded as a country to be run by an
elitist ,oligarchical ruling class, and this is the way it has been for the
last 245 years. From the establisment of Electoral College, to the
establishment of lobbyists, through Citizens United, there have .measures
enacted to keep the working class from participating in the governing of this
country. Should a populist candidate that has the interest of the poor and
working class gain any traction in an election, there are sophisticated means
of manipulating elections, or comitting outright fraud to keep the candiate
from winning, be they on the left or on the right. If such a candidate does get
into office, be they a Ron Paul or a Bernie Sanders, they are denied having any
real say in what laws are passed, if said laws go against the wishes of the
capitalist ruling class. Either that or they quickly change their tune once
they get into office, and are assimilated into the oligarchical Borg, so to
speak. The lack of a parliamentary system, keeps independent "third" parties
out from growing to the point where they might actually change the sysyem,
whether those parties be on the left or on the right, think the Libertarian or
the Constitution Parties. As a communist, I'd support a Libertarian over a
Democrat any day of the week.

What we have is a system designed by a ruling class, both to keep their
oppressive, oligarchical capitalist system in place, and force this system upon
the rest of the world, through imperialist warfare. Whether that warfare is
physical, with troops and bombs, or economic, with sanctions, it makes no
difference. It's all the same.
