It's not MUAs job to check SPF; it's MTAs job.

"Normal" SPF checking happens at the connection phase, not at data phase,
and is not interested at all in any headers of the message (neither From:
nor Sender:). All it takes is the domain from MAIL FROM:.

It's DMARC that requires alignment of MAIL FROM: domain with header From:
domain, not SPF.
