This is the concerning part -- it seems that BIMI will disadvantage smaller / independent mail networks by introducing a new barrier to having their valid mail treated equally to their large corporate peers. Any email verification system which relies on centralised, pay-to-play services undermines the decentralised principles of email as a whole, harming equal access (and fair treatment) for all players.
