not. your call, but I speak the truth.
I value what you do, but am trying to play devil's advocate in a helpful
way. My personal leanings are towards privacy. If you give me two options,
(1) "yes" privacy and "no" abuse prevention
(2) "no" privacy and "yes" abuse prevention,
then in the complete absence of data, I'm going to default to (1).
That's a philosophical/political leaning, and maybe some of the working
group members share it.
If you wanted to convince *me* to change my default opinion, what would
work is some evidence that I can't ignore. Show me that eliminating the
WHOIS is worse *for the bullet points that I care about* than the
alternative. In other words, prove (with data) your assertion that abuse
is a worse privacy risk than the WHOIS data itself.
