No, it uses the plain text variant for the plain text alternative and the HTML 
variant for the HTML alternative.

I'm not really a fan of HTML signatures. It's one of those features which was 
only implemented due to a lot of pressure from users. I mainly did it because 
some users are required to use a specific HTML signature by their employer. 
They simply cannot use MailMate without it. (And it must be applied to all 
outgoing emails.)

That said, you have written me off list with some issues with the actual 
generation of HTML. I'll have to look into that.
