Hi Aniver , In TVM , "Local Stallman" ( Dr. Sasi Kumar ) might have been responsible for the stuff. I do not know who had the idea here. There is a great section of people who thrive on this "Freedom" nuisance ! regardsPraseed Pai

Most of the Linux User Groups in India (with the name Indian Linux User Group) were born during the initial phase of free software popularisation . Specifically at the timepoint were Debian potato available on 16 Floppys . There a Linux India Group and various chapters at delhi, mumbai , bangalore, cochin & chennai. User groups e inwfocused mainly on sharing solutions to known problems hardware compatibility issues and various such knowledge & media sharing , at a time inwhich internet is not much popular as of now Name change happens at a different point . If i am correct It was around 2008. Free Software become much popular and More Special interest user groups started in various cities , like users groups for each FOSS projects . And it was not kernel user groups. Many changed their names during this process . LUG mumbai became GLUG-MUMBAI , Bangalore LUG is died. Free Software User Group evolved in many cities . Ilug Trivandrum changed its name to FSUG-TVM . LINUX INDIA died . I see Ilug cochin's name shift of Linux to Libre as a wonderful hack to facilitate more discussion on the FOSS projects than getting stuck on OS Platform . I suggest to keep it as it is , which marks a wonderful mark in ILUG cochin's 13 year evolution Anivar _______________________________________________ Indian Libre User Group Cochin Mailing List http://www.ilug-cochin.org/mailing-list/ http://mail.ilug-cochin.org/mailman/listinfo/mailinglist_ilug-cochin.org #[email protected]
