Will a 64 gb thumb drive work just the same? Asking as when it said you
need a 8 gb thumb drive it sounded like it will take nothing other than
a 8 gb thumb drive. Thanks!

Yes, you need a 8GB thumb drive, or a partition on a external USB formated to
mac extended journaled, and named untitled. also, you do not need to put disc
maker x in the applications folder, I ran it from the downloads folder and it
worked just fine

Hi.
I have downloaded the Mavericks install app, it is in my apps directory I
Nextel loaded disk maker ex, I have put it into my apps folder as well. When I
try to run disk make her ex, though, I get the files from the Internet message,
then this may correct opens to an empty screen, it stays empty, the matter how
long I wait. Anyone have any suggestions what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks.

Hello. I am happy to report, that making a bootible drive with disc maker X
version 3.4 waas successful. Steps I used to perform this.
1. Downloaded disc maker x version 3.4
2. Downloaded mavericks 10.92 and exited before it installed so it would place
the installer in my applications folder.
3. eraced and formatted my 8GB thumb drive, left it as untitled, and macintosh
journaled.
4. ran disc maker x.
note, when doing this it will first ask you what version of lion are you trying
to create a bootible drive for. Lion, mountain lion, or mavericks. I chose
mavericks. Next it will tell you what versions of lion or mavircks it found on
your system. Then it will ask you are you sure, ask for your admin password,
and then do its thing. It will first say disc maker has no windows, that will
go on for about 1 minut or so. Then disc maker will continue to say busy for
about 10 to 12 minutes. It will then tell you that it is completing copying
final files, and in about another 2 minutes, your bootible thumb drive of
mavericks is complete. These are the steps I did, don't know if anyone else
will have to change something, but this is what worked for me.
