tim, I found an article that explained the reason for my inability to install Airport Utility 5.6. Apparently, the installer won't play nice with Lion. but, an article I read said that I could get around this by getting a piece of shareware called Pacifist. Now, here's my problem. I come from the PC world where one simply looks for the .EXE file and hits ENTER on it. In the Mac world, I have no idea what the equivalent of an executable file is. so, I can open the disk image. But I don't know what I'm looking for, or how far down to drill to find it. so, when I guessed I'd found what I was looking for and copied it to a safe location, opening the file didn't run the utility because I must not have copied or installed enough components to get the job done. Could you give me any sense of what I'd be looking for if I were trying to get around an installer?
