I don't believe that interaction could be removed in OS X. You are comparing two entirely different operating systems and situations. You have to understand what exactly interacting does and how it works. iOS is a different and much more streamlined interface compared to the complexity of OS X. It's not a difficult concept to deal with and you can make it much easier on yourself in a lot of ways. Remember that the tab key will allow you to automatically interact with items, and in situations it's available, like Mail, the control-option-j command will automatically interact.
