It does on the page that talks about the plan.

Well, they should have told you that you have up to a year to put your Apple
devices on Apple care. That is, a year from the time you buy them.

You should report this to Apple.

Hi, folks, I was not informed of Apple Care at all when I bought my Mac (from
Best buy) nor my phone (from Telus)

Hi folks,
When I got my 4S, I was told about 2 different apple care plans. for $99 I could
get Apple care that would cover one accidental replacement if it were dropped in
water. They needed to see the phone within 30 days of purchase to make sure it was
in good working order. The other plan cost $69 & covered phone support as we
all have become accustomed to. For that plan, I had 1 year from date of purchase to
pay for it.
Hope this helps.

They ask for your serial number in the UK too. I registered my I Mac for Apple
care when I got it and I had to give my serial number.

Maybe it's different in the UK, but here in the US if you call AppleCare they
always ask for your serial number. They didn't ask me either, but they put it
down. They already had it in the store.

Hello Everyone.
Just an update.
Thanks to your advice, I have signed up to Apple Care for my Mcbook Pro 13 Inch.
I went for the plan that covers Macbook Air and 13 Inch Macbook Pro. Well
that's what the store says anyway.
Cost was Ł199 including Vat and delivery is free.
I will get in the box some paperwork.
But what surprises me is that in theory, anybody with an Apple Id can sign up
to Apple Care, because Apple does not validate your order by checking a
product's serial number. Nowhere in the order process was I asked for my
Macbook Pro's serial number. I therefore would hate customers to purchase Apple
Care, only to find out it's not valid as they bought it 1 year from the
original purchase date for example. That's like Ł200 gone down the drain!
I know mine will be accepted, but thought I would point this out for potential
customers on here.
With kind regards Chris.
