Hi folks,
When I got my 4S, I was told about 2 different apple care plans. for $99 I 
could get Apple care that would cover one accidental replacement if it were 
dropped in water. They needed to see the phone within 30 days of purchase to 
make sure it was in good working order. The other plan cost $69 & covered phone 
support as we all have become accustomed to. For that plan, I had 1 year from 
date of purchase to pay for it.

They ask for your serial number in the UK too. I registered my I Mac for Apple 
care when I got it and I had to give my serial number.
