Hi Krister, yes I'm doing this usually more than weekly on Mushroom FM.
Audio isn't the best with Fusion, but it works OK with my Edirol UA1-EX as my studio sound card connected to my mixer and a cheap USB sound card for JAWS. I sometimes find that this second sound card will cut out, and I have to go into the virtual machine menu and disconnect and reconnect. I'm using a mixer, but if you are not, the configuration is actually far simpler. Remember that in this case, all the audio you play is going through Studio's audio pipeline, so listeners aren't affected. In terms of hearing yourself echoing back, this is an issue with the default configuration of Studio no matter which computer or configuration you use, although I agree, latency is a bit more pronounced in Fusion. My recommendation is that you simply switch off hearing yourself coming back in the headset. Even on a fast system there is still latency, and while some people have become used to it, I find it slows down my speech and is distracting. Go to Studio's options and set your monitor device to the headset, then configure toggle monitor to on under microphone input. If you really do like to hear yourself echoing back, then there's no doubt Bootcamp would reduce the latency. I read a very interesting article by Brian Smart who described how to reduce audio latency in Fusion, but when I followed his steps, I broke things majorly. Thank goodness for snapshots. I will be doing a series of webinars on topics like this soon.
