Hello Brandt, I use Adobe Digital Editions to read EPUB books on my Mac. It will handle DRM protected books from several sources including Kobo and Nook.
You can't interact with the text area, but if you want to look closely at something on the page, VO-Shift-c will copy the whole page to the clipboard, and you can paste it into a TextEdit document where you can read it properly. To go to the next page, you just press the right arrow key and by checking the TOC check box, you can show the table of contents, interact with the table, and just press the space bar to go to the chapter you want.
