I totally second Ray, and Harry both on this. John Pamarese and I had quite a
squobble about this fairly recently. This is effin ridiculous! I mean, ok,
the mod says they're gone over the holiday. OK, look, it's January 13th. Give
me a flippen break! And making the list require an invitation? What the hell!
I mean, it's not like we're sharing pirated software... hey, anyone want my
copy of The fish? LOL! O wait... just kidding... or like we're sharing music
illegally, anyone want all 70 something odd albums by R E M?... Again, just
kidding. Seriously though, think about it. Mods, if you're so lazy you can't
manage a list... then, who on earth will! Think about it, Sherlock. Keep
digging, Watson. This isn't rocket science.

I see no problem with making it an open list, unless that opens the list up
to robots and the like.

I have the very same issue. A friend to join, but, haven't heard back from
the mod. To put it bluntly, how can we expect any new members with this kind
of crazy scheme? Do we want new members or not? IF so, what's the fastest way
to get them on board?

      Hi folks
I have a friend who wants to join this list. She tried subscribing
herself but got an error message saying it was by invite only. I'm sure I just
joined without somebody inviting me.
When I tried to go to the website - the link at the bottom of this email
- I got a 404 error.
What's going on, and how can my friend join up? Thanks.

      Lisette
