Both of those problems are ones  I haven't found, but I've only played with 
Numbers; I've not made large files or done extensive work.  I keep forgetting 
that I can use TextEdit and the tab key to make rows and columns of 
information; I will have to keep that in mind.  How in the world did yo ever 
discover that in the first place?
