Hey, Yes, you will lose your liscence key for windows 7 if you do a clean install of OsX, unless you have the image of that virtual machine backed up somewhere. But before you resort to that, are you able to play audio or video files through your speakers and hear it clearly? If so, then the problem might be with the audio output settings for voiceOver. If not, then you might be able to find something in system prefferences that'll help.
