Same here. Both Vicky and Victoria sound too robotic for me; more like Fred
than Alex. Vicky doesn't have nearly the realism
as Alex, so I can't imagine that she's meant to be his female counterpart. Oh
well. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Honestly, I don't understand all the fuss about the Nuance voices. Over all, I
don't like any of them, with the possible
exceptions of Karen and Lee, and I really wish that Apple would have just
created their own voices or gone with a different
tts provider. In all honesty, 1 of the many reasons I'm still not the proud
owner of an I device is that I can't stand the
Samantha voice. If there was a way to use almost any other kind of voice by
default on an Iphone, I'd try to save up for 1 in
a heartbeat. I understand that mobile Alex isn't an option, but honestly! Why
couldn't Apple have used the Acapella voices
instead, or the Ivona voices; they're very good too.
OK. End of rant. LOL!

I thought Victoria was prior voice to Alex? Personally I quite like Alex, and
can't stand Fred. He sounds rather creepy and
too robotic. I guess it depends on what you are used to and how long you have
been using TTS.
