Hi Laura.
I use Numbers all the time, and I like it better than good old Excel.

Just in case you don't know about that interacting thing, when you first call
up Numbers, you press control option down arrow to interact. Then you get the
tables—you can have more than one. When I first started with Numbers, somehow I
created tables I didn't know I had done. So, don't worry about that. When you
get the table list, you do that interacting thing again. Just in case you did
like me and made some more tables, press control option right arrow or left
arrow to go to the table list just in case you need to interact with a
different table. So, if you do what I id a few times and find you have a blank
table, you probably made another one, and you can delete that one by pressing
the delete key when you hear the table number. Be careful to make sure it is in
fact the blank one you want to get rid of if you made one accidentally.

Now keep " mind that VoiceOver use headers for both the columns and rows. The
headers tell VoiceOver what to announce so you won't get lost. I think the
default—but I can't remember for sure—is one row for a header and one column
for a header. You can change this when you figure out things.

If you don't have a file yet in Numbers, you will get the choice to use a
template. These are already made up, and you can make some more if you want to.
I usually choose a blank template, and then go and decide how many columns and
rows I want.

I think I have told you enough for now. I hope this gets you going.
