Hello Laura Ann, You should be able to do what you want with Pages and Numbers. I use Pages all the time to edit Word documents in my capacity as a professional translator. Pages is a powerful word processor and it takes a little time to learn how to use it.
The only function I haven't found a way to use in Pages is tracking changes. The rest is manageable. Pages comes with a large number of templates and you can create your own, too. Training on the iWork suite is available via Skype at a cost of €25 per unit. There are 5 units for Pages but not everyone needs them all. For more information about training, contact CeciMac Education: educat...@cecimac.org Cheers, Anne On 27 Jun 2012, at 00:25, Laura ann Grymes, LMT wrote: > Hi, > I wondered if there are ways to read and edit spreadsheets on the mac? > If so how and with which applications? > > I have a macbook with lion and have pages and numbers. > When I open spreadsheets in numbers .xls file though nothing talks at all for > the spreadsheet. > > for documents I so far use text edit but wondered if there is something more > robust for editing documents accessibly? > I have tried pages but not found it to be accessible for me yet. > I wondered if there are settings I should change or do I need a different > program or for office products on a mac are we not there yet with > accessibility? > > Appreciate any recommendations? > I need to edit documents to create flyers and keep records and on the > spreadsheet end am wanting to track income and expenses. > > I am open to another app that works well with voice over to track income and > expenses too so I have good records to send to the CPA at the end of the year > for income tax and so on and am also needing something for my record keeping > for a small > business. > > I appreciate any suggestions or thoughts on apps. > Thank you! > > Laura Ann > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "MacVisionaries" group. > To post to this group, send email to macvisionaries@googlegroups.com. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to > macvisionaries+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com. > For more options, visit this group at > http://groups.google.com/group/macvisionaries?hl=en. > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
