Ok, thanks for that info.

I just hit command-shift-M to show my mailboxes, then command-I to look at 
info.  My quota limit shows I'm using 1.24GB and I have 10.74GB to use in 
total.  Does this mean on my Mac, or on gMail server?

It's a pretty cool area, it shows how much each folder contains.
