The most common setups are wifi or ethernet. not sure on the USB modems point of view as I don't use them. it should recognise one. if not then it's best uding either ethernet or wifi to connect. usually, it downloads a small setup to srtart the process, then downloads about 4gb data. doesn't take that long depending on your connection.
