In fact, although this has been a concern for about two years now, none of the people who have gotten this to work have ever posted a model of scanner that actually does work seemlessly. No, I think one was posted but it was a business model in the $700 price range. Any other time you look deeper into this you invariably find out that the user needs to jump through some kind of hoop to get scanning action.
It's cool if it works for you, but I find it very sketchy myself.
