Hi, Here's my endorsement for what it's worth. I used to build computers and play around with installations and networks and such until I got completely fed up and disabused and thought of selling my pridigeous collection of old hardware.
Then I had a chance to get a mac and I took it. Not only did it completely rejuvinate my interest in computers, but now I have my own business teaching access technologies, including and especially apple products. I use my macbook for everything to do with tracking clients, hours, billings, receivables, expenses, appointments, and lesson prep among other things. It's my day to day computer, and I've gone from having 4 or 5 windows machines for specific tasks to a router and a macbook that handles everything. Plus, my mac has virtual machines running on it that allow me to test programs and situations using the windows screen readers I teach and also ubuntoo/vinux. I'm about to embark on my second macbook purchase to get me through the next three years. By that time I suspect things will be much changed in the computer world. I doubt I'll own another one, but for now apple has given me a new lease on a work life and totally changed my attitude toward computers. I don't hate windows as such. That would be bad for my job prospects. I try to keep my dislike of the worlds leading screen reader under wraps as much as possible. But I can't even describe to you how chafing it is to sit in front of a windows machine full of viruses and malware, or restore systems from failed updates that deployed automatically, or troubleshoot some ambiguous screen reader misbehaviour. My mac just plain works, which means that after a day of fiddly farting around with other people's computers, I can come home and get done what I need to, and then go off and read or catch hockey or cook a nice dinner and never have to think about computers.
