Hi Janina, I completely agree about the size thing. If the SE were more powerful and more upgradable, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. I still miss the Home button. And yes, before anyone jumps down my throat, I’ve completely adjusted to the swipe up gesture. But I still prefer the home button. I get that they want to fit more content on the screen, so fine make a plus model. But then continue to make a smaller phone for those of us who want our phones to stay small. When the 12 came out, I bought the mini, and other than the short battery life, I loved it.
I tried Android back in 2010, and absolutely hated the experience. I know Android’s accessibility has come a long way since then, but I just can’t envision giving it another go. One thing that bugged me about Android, is that every company can do what they want. They can enable or disable what features they want to, and you don’t really know what you get until you buy the phone. I think I tried like three different phones, a Motorola, and Ally—can’t remember who made that one—and a Samsung. When you buy an iPhone, you know exactly what you are getting, and you can make an informed decision whether to take it or leave it. I will say that for typing on my phone, I mostly use dictation. I prefer it to trying to type, or to hauling around a BT keyboard. But as we all know, there are situations where dictation isn’t the best choice. If I need to type, and if I can, I use my Mac. I did think about not upgrading, but I want the AI features when they drop. So, for this go-round, I’m along for the ride.
