I have an iPhone XS, one of the oldest devices that can run iOS 18. It meetgs 
my needs well. I plan to wait at least another year, expecting that next year's 
operating system may not support my iPhone and it may then be a suitable time 
to upgrade.
At that point, all of the incremental, year by year improvements will add up to something I am likely to notice sufficiently to justify the upgrade.
