Hi Donna,
I don’t have a Braille eMotion, but I have had a BrailleSense 6 for about three 
years. There are some fading dots, but I haven’t sent it in for repairs yet 
because they don’t affect my reading too much yet. The problem you’re having 
sounds pretty scary. I’m on an email list for users of HIMS devices, but I 
haven’t seen any discussion of any of their devices getting hot like that. I 
could ask if anyone else has experienced this if you want, but it sounds like 
your best bet is to contact their tech support. People on the list have said 
that Chris and Pamela are very helpful and knowledgeable.
