A few suggestions:
You may receive more responses by asking on a braille display-related
mailing list, such as braille-display-us...@groups.io, to which you can
subscribe.
You could also ask the vendor to test the demonstration device and
provide an explanation.
In addition, check the terms and length of the warranty.
