Of course I understand all the (perceived?) wisdom of starting from scratch, I just don't accept that it shouldn't be possible to migrate, now that bootable clones are essentially off the table. Whatever you may have thought of them as a means of moving from one machine to another, they were a valuable way to get your workflow up and running quickly, and that use case now has to be properly supported by the migration tool.
