Hi, I’m in a dreadful quandary. I’ve managed to setup my new Netgear X6 R8000 router successfully using web interface. However, I’ve hit a problem in that I am not able to setup my old (6 gen) airport extreme to join the existing network. I can see the airport extreme in airport utility and I start setting it up but it defaults to wanting to create a new network whenever I choose the option to add to existing network. I don’t understand why. Any clues? It’s so frustrating. I should be able to do so. I’ve managed to add airport express to the existing network with netgear as main router but extreme refuses to give me this option.
