Anders,

Is screen / picture quality an issue for you?

If not then take the iPhone XR, they have shown to have better battery life
than all other iPhones currently that includes the 8's and the newer XS range.

The processor is better and the screen is slightly larger,
If screen is something you want then the 8 and 8Plus have better screen
resolution
Otherwise there isn't a lot and either way your going to get a great device,
The 8 will give you 3d touch which the xr wont. The 8 has a home button the xr
doesn't.

The xr should have esim abilitys next year.

So in other words, it’s a case of what do you need and what do you want?

Either way they are good devices the xr will just last slightly longer.

The X R, without a case, for me, feels rather slippery. With a case, though, it
feels great and solid, and the battery life is just amazing, even when using it
with Wifi, Bluetooth, location services, and background app refresh on. If you
don't need all that, one user has said that he gets a day and a half of Wifi.
With it, I get a full day of life.
