Hi,

I'm wondering if it's more the dictation engine that's causing your problem,
not the Spanish keyboard. When dictation is engaged, a new layer is added to
your screen. From a visual prospective, it's like an overhead transparency.,
so the sighted user does not notice a change. The VO user on the other hand
may lose focus of the editable area of the TextEdit document since the
dictation engine took over control. Either turning VO off then on or
cmd-tabbing away then back to TextEdit may regain proper keyboard control.

Also, I mentioned earlier how to remove the Spanish keyboard. Were you able to
make it go away?

Later...

Hi ET,

No. My keyboard shortcut is to press the FN key twice. I agree, there
shouldn't be any interference, which is why I'm wondering about the addition of
Spanish as the culprit.
Cheers,
Donna
