Hi,

I haven't ever found it in the software anywhere. It's usually physically
engraved on the bottom of the MacBook Pro somewhere, but that doesn't help us.
Apple usually has those designators on their site somewhere. I usually just
take the 9-2 identifier and add MacBook Pro Apple and throw it into a Google
search and it will come up either on Apple's site everymac.com. The before
2012 is a little misleading, but 2012 is when the retina displays and MagSafe 2
charger came out, so they're correct, but those units that you're talking about
did use the 60w MagSafe 1 adaptor as you've found.

Later...

Tim, where would I find that designator? That's the kind of thing I expected to
find in the system report, but I couldn't get anything other than the
not-very-helpful "9,2" thing.
