I've been saying that if you haven't educated yourself about the issues, you should not vote. But part of the point here is that it's really not that hard to do a little research. Get into the habit of catching yourself saying, "I heard this" or "I think it's like that." When that happens, google it and make sure. I know people are going to say there is so much misinformation out there on the internet. And it's true, you do have to be a little careful. Do not believe any one source. Consider whether each source can be trusted. But generally, a simple google search will give you a handful of sites that can put you at ease as to the facts on any particular issue. For example, if you research the facts on global warming, the debate quickly becomes one as to how aggressively we need to address that problem rather than whether it is a problem at all. Still it would be difficult to stay on the rolls if you miss more than two cycles, sometimes if you miss only one. For example I missed the 2008 presidential election, even though I did vote in 2004. I had to register again in 2012. what I am most interested in myself are the turnout percentages this year. The numbers are unfortunately rarely a real majority. so I want to learn both how many eligible voters did participate, as well as those who voted for a different presidential candidate on the ballot instead. Going back to the question though it is on a state by state basis even if you are considered to be an overseas voter. After missing a Presidential election, the person needs to reregister. Therefore, a dead person will only remain on the voter roles until after the next Presidential election. As for the example about the prestuffed metal balet box, There are a few cities which were known for this behavior. Chicago and New York City both come to mind as large practitioners of this practice, between 1890 and 1915. In both of these cities, the democrats were caught doing so. In fact, it was the practice in New York City which earned the dems the monicker of the donkey and the republicans the elephant by press cartoonists. All that said, both parties were caught using such practices at various times and in various localities. This is all well-documented in US history. Remember I did try to leave politics out of it and just encourage people to flex their voting muscles no matter how they wished.;) To answer your question though since itâ€â„„¢s a ga great question, no we have no such requirement. Once you register to vote you’ree>>>>>> registered. Now there are things that happen for example if a deathcertificate is issued that registry entry should be removed but in practicality that doesn’t always happappen. It It really depends on the individual state. In some states you donâ€ââ„¢t et even have to show identification to vote, in others you do. In some states they have early voting meaning you can vote early either at a polling place or via mail. In other states you have election day only. Florida is an example where you can vote early, Michigan is an example where you can only vote on election day. Thereâ€ââ„¢s bs been a provision in Texas state law that you can vote from space.:) (Astronauts being Houston Texas residents have a provision to vote electronically from the space station as an example) SO things differ. TO my knowledge though there’s no need to check in ev every yearear. Great question. To bring this squarely on topic though, I wish there was a way to vote securely online. I realize thatâ€â„„¢s very ry difficult to do safely but how nice would it be to just fire up the old iPad or laptop and vote. We could be a lot more direct instead of so representative like we are now but the security of such a thing just couldn’t beeeguarantied. On Nov 8, 2016, at 1:34 PM, Kawal Gucukoglu <kgli...@icloud.com> wrote: To tell you the truth and I'm being honest here, I love it when things go wrong. Here in the UK every year you have to let your local authority know if you live in the same place so that you don't have to register again to vote. I'd think they would do that in the US. By the way, I just like to know things for my knowledge and not to spark anger or nastiness so those who say that this conversation is going to turn nasty, I beg to differ. That aside, the sad fact is there is a real case to be made for the election being fixed. 1. There are over 24 million registered voters who shouldn’t be...These are either people who are not citizens, people who are dead, people who are registered in more than one location and so forth. Next, there have already been cases of people̢ۉ„„¢s votes beinggmisrecorded on file. In Texas for example, there have been cases of trump votes being changed to Clinton votes by the software. Now to be fair and balanced, on the republican side, there have been cases made for voter suppression especially of the African American vote. Some examples of presidents who were elected via fraud include John F. Kennedy and Lindon Johnson. The corruption in Chicago famously assisted JFK in his election bid. LBJ also benefited from fraud in Texas. So, there’s as an actualual verifiable history of this in the country. We also have video tape of democratic operatives this year advising the Clinton folks how to circumvent the voter registration system and how to bus people in to areas with out being detected. Now, all that being said there’s so some good od news in this front as well. More people are watching than ever before. There are 800 government operatives fanning out across the country to verify the integrity of the election. On top of this there are thousands of volunteers on both sides and individual themselves are being more vigilant in insuring their votes are recorded correctly. So in the end I think this will not be a problem. I can tell Kawal though that you need to really broaden your media sources. The idea of voter fraud is not a conspiracy theory or off balance, there’s a long historyory of it it including in recent times. Do I need to remind you about the 2000 election? You may not be familiar but there were real shenanigans during that election. I’m not sure how much pl play that at got in the UK but whole blocks of ballots turned up uncounted and some even washed up on shore.;) So neither party has the monopoly on truth or honesty. Most of the claims that you’ve madeade about Tt Trump though are factually untrue which leads me to think you̢ۉ„„¢re gettingga lot of that government spoon fed BBC media which is in collusion with the media in this country. Likewise there's probably a lot about Hilary that hasn’t made it your wayway do to to the same filtering. Unfortunately, the days of Walter Cronkite and a certain level of impartial journalism are dead. Fox news is as guilty of slanting their side of the story as is the BBC and big 3 American TV networks, we won’t even discuss thethe papers.rs. It’s veryyydifficult to get reliable news and important now more than ever to use multiple sources with diverse viewpoints and then interpolate the truth from diverse sources. On Nov 8, 2016, at 11:20 AM, Kawal Gucukoglu <kgli...@icloud.com> wrote: If trump does not get his way he'll say the election was rigged and if he does not accept the vote, where then for America? On 8 Nov 2016, at 15:34, CHUCK REICHEL <soundpicturerecord...@gmail.com> wrote: Hi Scott, I agree! extra size your rite to Vote!
