Hi, The difference, as i understand it, and correct me if i'm wrong here, is that in the States, you actually own the dog. In Sweden it's the blindness organization that owns the guide dogs, we just use them, borrow if you so will and so taking a dog away is perfectly ok, if the owner so chooses. I don't say it's good, i don't like the system myself, but there you have it. /Krister
