The reality of the matter is that you can buy an unlocked IPhone and buy a 
prepaid SIM card with voice only and forget about a data plan.

I have to agree. In my country it's 120 dollars roughly, and that is 
ridiculous, which is probably another reason I have not bought an iPhone yet.
