How can you use a GPS outside if there's no Wi-fi. A touch only has Wi-fi, not 3G. So, how does this work with a Touch?

Donal, Not sure my message got loose. In any case Navigon MobileNavigator is very accessible on the iPhone and a number of us on the VI Phone list have provided some suggestions for a couple of features that would benefit both sighted and non-sighted users alike. Currently MobileNavigator does not work on the iPod Touch, but it could be possible with the Tom Tom GPS hardware. Anything is possible of course. The Touch could possibly have a GPS solution added as an external item, but of course the other consideration is the data plan. I personally decided to just get the iPhone for my wife and I and I do get my use out of the data plan. I hope that gives you some things to consider. The interface is the same with a few differences do to the fact one is the iPhone and one is the iPod Touch, but the experience is the same. The phone carrier (O2) in Ireland who offers the iPhone is offering me a very good upgrade price. So my dilemma is whether to buy the iPhone now, or wait till the States to get the touch. I presume the interaction on both devices is the same? I'd be very interested to hear the thoughts and experiences of people on the list who have tried both. In light of the ludicrous over-pricing by Intel on their new reader, isn't it truly fantastic to have the choice between two off-the-shelf devices?
